Between Bag and Object

Sometimes I don’t know if I’m designing bags or objects.
Perhaps both.

At atelier &LAB, a bag does not begin with decoration.
It begins with structure.

Before thinking about pockets or details, the question is simple:
what shape should this object take in space?

A bag is a daily tool.
It carries personal belongings, moves through the city, and follows the rhythm of everyday life.

But it is also an object — something with volume, balance, and presence.

The designs of atelier &LAB explore this boundary.

The NUMÉRO series begins with a clear geometric intention:
a structured form that holds its shape and creates a strong silhouette when carried.

Rather than collapsing like a soft bag, the structure defines the object.

The bag becomes closer to a small architectural form — portable, functional, yet sculptural.

In the studio, the process is quiet and methodical.
Materials are chosen not only for their appearance, but for how they support the structure:
leather thickness, lining, reinforcement, balance of weight.

The goal is simple.

To create objects for everyday life that carry both function and form.

Objects that move through the city with their own presence.

Perhaps that is where a bag becomes an object.
